Studio Extra Rebrand

“Extra as always”
In November 2024, I was contracted as a Graphic Designer for Studio Extra, a budding, black owned, faith-based, hair and makeup beauty studio that had opened in Arlington, VA back in 2021. My boss & studio owner, Jordan Estep, felt that the studio was lacking in a distinct visual identity and tasked me with leading, directing, & designing the visual rebrand of Studio Extra across all of its print, digital, and in-store channels.

a new direction
After consulting with Jordan about the direction in which she wanted to take the studio, I came up with a comprehensive creative direction for the studio to take entitled, “Bold & Sophisticated”. Jordan explained that she wanted the studio to carry a more upscale image but still maintain a sense of fun, chic, comfortability.
Therefore, I proposed a direction that would accomplish both and ensured to explain how the rebrand would touch all the facets of Studio Extras branding (in-store space, social media, merchandise, etc).
While I was able to design and ideate numerous initiatives, the new direction primarily took shape within Studio Extra’s in-store identity and digital identity.
